The photo exhibition explores the early years of the Vihre\u00e4 Lanka newspaper and pioneering environmentalists in Finland. The newspaper boosted public awareness and debate on environmental issues and served as an important communication channel for many grassroots-level actors who were rarely given column space in the mainstream media.<\/p>\n Vihre\u00e4 Lanka was discontinued in 2019. After that, the newspaper\u2019s photo archives from the 1980s\u20131990s were donated to the Finnish Labour Museum Werstas. Of the thousands of photos in the archives, 77 photos of pioneering environmentalists have been selected for the exhibition.
